So, for a (rightly) jealous commenter, I tell you a bit about the concert:

A suburban-load of people went a few hours out of the way and to a wonderfully large pavilion to see Jack Johnson perform. My entire family is made up of Jack Johnson fans and we have been waiting a  long time to see him in concert. As in, since I was ten.
We ate at a lovely Chinese food restaurant and then went and got settled in our seats. Which we had. And a lot of people didn’t. And a lot of people got very, very rained upon. And as the warm-up bands performed and the little umpa-lumpas ran around with cords and speakers and instruments, there was some amazing lightning and thunder! I was so, so thankful to be under that covering, in a nice, nearly dry seat.
We waited patiently, and then he appeared and we all got a little more excited than we expected to get, and he started playing “You and Your Heart” from his new album. This was the beginning of a great concert.

The above video is one that Birdie took of Jack Johnson singing and Zach Gill on the accordion.

I think I can say that he played all of our favorites, from new and old albums and that his accompanying band was very good. Zach Gill from the band A.L.O. did the keyboard, back-up vocals and accordion (which was amazing) and some other stuff. One nifty thing was that in the middle of “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing” Jack Johnson started singing part of “Just What I Needed” by The Cars. He also sang “The Joker” by Steve Miller Band. For his encore, he sang “Do You Remember” and “Better Together.” All in all, it was a really fun concert, despite the guy in the row ahead of us who decided to drink a touch too much and do his own motions to ever noun or verb that can be found in a Jack Johnson song. The video is from our concert, but I found it on Youtube. We were not quite so close!

Oddly enough, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of Jack Johnson…
I’m glad it was a great concert, despite the dampness and the *ahem* exuberant guy in front of you. ;)
