laugh-n-cry music

So the other day I was feeling a little down down-right depressed and so I decided to whip out an iTunes card that someone had given me for my graduation and spend all $25 in one splurge. I ended up buying several songs that lifted my spirits. Would you like me to share those?

Yes, this is a song to a tomato who is having a rough time. Listen long enough to get to the lyrics…they are precious. This is one of those songs that isn’t too perky to make you mad when you were feeling mellow, but still cheers you up.

This song is so sweet…it kind of makes you want to cry and smile at the same time. It was actually written by Charlie Chaplin but I love it put to Peyroux’s unique voice.

Definitely a perky one, so don’t listen to it if you’re feeling legitimately sad…it will only make you want to punch the lovely Ms. Gore. But if you are just needing a small pick-me-up, this song is perfectly adorable. And the video is quite funny.

This song is like a sunrise through lace curtains. I love it…so happy and chill. Not to mention, her voice is like chimes…!

Yes, I know that I’m late, but I am just getting into Peyroux! She has such a unique voice. Enjoy!

Well don’t you just have good taste? :) Have fun searching the others.

    Aren’t they? You’re welcome!

    I enjoy your musical insight!

    Thank you!!!

Running to that would be nice, come to think of it. And that’s really cool/ironic! What song was it?

Hey guess what? I’d never heard of Madeleine Peyroux until I read your post last night…and then…at work this morning, there was a song on that I recognized as one that The Civil Wars do, but I didn’t know who was singing that particular rendition. So I went to look, and lo and behold, it was Peyroux! I thought that was kinda exciting :)

I love spending sprees on itunes! Except I’ve switched to a cheaper site now but I still remember my past sprees fondly.

‘Good Day (Morning Song)’ is a favourite of mine right now!
And I also like Pink Martini but had never heard that song by them – I like it as well!

Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows is… one of my very ‘favoritest’ songs ever! And the Pink Martini is always great listening. :)

Thanks for sharing, Ev! I’ve got to look up Madeleine & Priscilla yet…

I don’t have time right now to listen to them, but I do recognize Madeleine Peyroux! My little cousin (actually my cousin’s 20-something year old daughter) made a cd of Peyroux’s music for me and I just love it. Will have to come back and take a listen later!
