“love is patient…”

My dears,

My studies of patience have gone well.
I know this because I’m quite addicted, yet constantly convicted. This is not a natural combination, but (I pray,) a fruit of the spirit.
Which brings me to the first two verses I’m basing this study on.

I can attain this “fruit” only through The Holy Spirit and His presence in my heart and everyday life.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22-23
And I want to attain it, because it is a matter of Love.
“Love is patient, love is kind.”
1 Corinthians 13:4

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13

So I plant Love under the soil and water it with His Spirit and wait. Patiently.
Won’t you pray for a large harvest, today?

the end of a rainbow

It is easy to imagine a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but what about behind a cloud?
Life rarely seems like a slide down a shiny, colorful arch in the sky, especially in times of hardship.
We often have trouble believing in the blessings promised to those who wait.
Patience, at least for me, is the most unnatural thing.
I want what I want now.
(Skip the rainbow, I want the treasure!)
So since Patience is the Fruit if the Spirit that I am most wanting to produce right now, I’m going to start studying all the scripture I can find on the subject.
And writing some of it (and some of my thoughts) here.

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.”
Ecclesiastes 7:8-9
